PETRINJA PETRINJA, Sept 2 (Hina) - Croatian musicians held a fund-raising concert for the victims of mines in Petrinja, some 40 km south-east of Zagreb, on Saturday. Explosive devices have killed 25 persons and wounded another 122 in
the area of Petrinja, where some 30 square kilometres of land are mine-infested. Attending the event were Croatian Foreign Minister's advisor on anti-mine action, Diana Plestina, International Campaign to Ban Land-Mines ambassador and 1997 Nobel peace prize winner Jody Williams, the president of the 'Roots of Peace' association, Heidi Kuhn, Labour and Welfare Minister Davorko Vidovic and Croatian Mine Action Centre director Damir Gorseta. The concert was organised by the multimedia association Studeni from Nova Gradiska and the German humanitarian organisation ASB/EC, with the assistance of numerous sponsors. (hina) rml
