DUBROVNIK AREA STILL ACTIVE DUBROVNIK, Aug 13 (Hina) - According to the latest information, fires in the area of Dubrovnik are still active. A strong wind has reactivated a fire in the area of Rozat. The fires at Smokovljan and
Visocani, which saw a very difficult day yesterday, are still active. The fires in the Dubrovnik area, which spread from neighbouring Bosnia-Herzegovina, have consumed about 400 hectares of land so far. The fires are most active at Visocani, but are not threatening settlements for now. The fires are being put out by fire-fighting units, locals and Croatian Army members. Their efforts are hampered by the fact that the area caught by fire is infested with mines and difficult to access. Fire-fighting planes are not being used due to a strong wind. A fire which broke out last night in Orasac was put out during the night. The Dubrovnik County Alert Centre reported another fire in the hills between Orasac and Gromaca this morning.(hina) rml
