NEGOTIATIONS UNDER WAY IN MACEDONIA; CALM IN VOLATILE AREAS

SKOPJE, July 28 (Hina) - Leaders of Macedonian parliamentary parties, including parties of ethnic Albanians, on Saturday continued negotiations on the use of languages, the protection of minorities, and the set-up of local police units. The talks, which are taking place at Ohrid, are being chaired by foreign mediators: James Pardew, who is the United States' envoy, and Francois Leotards who is the European Union's envoy. According to the Macedonian radio, the return of displaced villagers of Lesok, Dobroste and Neprosteno, was organised on Saturday morning. They left Skopje accompanied by international observers and relief agencies' workers as well as by the Macedonian government's officials. Only the displaced inhabitants of the village of Tearce remained in front of the building of the Macedonian parliament, as many houses in that village were set on fire by Albanian extremists during last night, t
