ZAGREB, July 19 (Hina) - Croatia's parliament on Thursday adopted amendments to a law on the privatisation of the Croatian Telecommunications (HT), which make it possible for the Deutsche Telekom to buy HT shares and stipulate the
subsequent offer of HT shares at a public auction. Under the previous law, the second stage of the HT privatisation should commence with the public auction of shares of this company both at home and abroad, but the government has abandoned such a plan, owing to unfavourable conditions on international telecommunications markets. The adopted changes will make it possible for the German company to buy 16 percent of HT's stocks for which Deutsche Telekom has offered 500 million euro. The Sabor also adopted amendments to the telecommunications act, which stipulate the prolongation of the HT's adjustment to a more liberal market as regards the fixed net from 2003 until early 2005
