Thursday evening Slobodan Milosevic's extradition to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) was "illegal and unconstitutional." Kostunica said in a statement this was "a hasty and humiliating move, which nobody in the international community demanded." During the hand-over, "the basic procedure was violated, as if somebody here and not somebody outside the country was in a hurry to see this obligation fulfilled." Kostunica said Serbia cannot join the future, Europe and the world "in this way." The Yugoslav president said Milosevic's extradition was the worst thing for the country, its citizens and the already disturbed peace in the region." The country is now facing a problem which was unnecessary and which has been created by
