PODGORICA, June 29 (Hina) - Montenegro's ruling coalition on Friday
hailed Milosevic's extradition to the International Criminal
Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), adding this was a proof
that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was dead.
The Socialistic People's Party, coalition partner to Serbia's DOS
at the Federal level, condemned Milosevic's extradition.
Party president Predrag Bulatovic said the DOS humiliated all
institutions in the system by extraditing Milosevic. He said his
party would leave the coalition with the DOS.
Montenegrin President's advisor Miodrag Vukovic said Milosevic
extradition to The Hague finally confirmed that the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia was formally dead.
Montenegrin vice premier Dragisa Burzan said Milosevic's
extradition was actually "the beginning of a trial to a crime
policy, still defended by the Socialistic People's Party in the
Montenegrin parliament", adding this "will open the door for a
peaceful and stabile procedure, in which Montenegro will gain
sovereignty."
Political leader of the Liberal Alliance (LS) Miodrag Zivkovic said
the decision of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic to extradite
Milosevic to the ICTY was not a surprise, because it was a known fact
that Serbia needed money to survive in the upcoming period.
