BELGRADE, June 29 (Hina) - Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica late Thursday evening said Slobodan Milosevic's extradition to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) was "illegal and unconstitutional".
Kostunica said in a statement this was "a hasty and humiliating move, which nobody in the international community demanded." In the statement, Kostunica said during the extradition "the basic procedure was violated, as if somebody here and not somebody outside was in a rush to fulfill a commitment" Kostunica said Serbia cannot join the future, Europe and the world "this way". The Yugoslav President said Milosevic's extradition was the worse thing the country, its citizens and already disturbed peace in the region needed to face."
