ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - The Croatian Interpol office on Tuesday issued an international arrest warrant after Ljerka Ercegovic, a former head of the Croatian Postal Bank (HPB) management board, who is out of the reach of the Croatian
judiciary, Interior Ministry spokesman Slavko Rako said. The arrest warrant has been issued at the proposal of the Zagreb County Court and sent to more than 100 countries - Interpol members. Late last year, the Zagreb County Court widened an investigation against Ercegovic and ruled on her detention and the issuing of an arrest warrant. Ercegovic is suspected of having caused damage worth 34 million kuna to the HPB on Miroslav Kutle's encouragement. Kutle, a former media mogul, is standing trial for fraud. According to Ercegovic's attorney, Ivan Kern, Ercegovic had been undergoing medical treatment in Slovenia due to high eye pressure and was currently in Venice's 'Villa

The Justice Ministry today informed the Interior Ministry that it
would request Ercegovic's hand-over should she be arrested and
detained in a foreign country.
