region of Baranja. Following up on gathered information and founded suspicion that resident of Jagodnjak (in Baranja), J.G. (1965) was in possession of narcotics, police last night stopped him and requested of him identification documents. During the identification process, J.G. tried to flee, but decided against it after several warning gun shots by police officers. He, however, discarded two nylon bags containing 1,921 grams of marijuana and 22.3 grams of heroin, police commissioner Zeljko Vajda told reporters Thursday. Having received a search warrant, police Thursday carried out a search of J.G's apartment. Following up on gathered information and founded suspicion that
resident of Jagodnjak (in Baranja), J.G. (1965) was in possession
of narcotics, police last night stopped him and requested of him
identification documents. During the identification process, J.G.

He, however, discarded two nylon bags containing 1,921 grams of
marijuana and 22.3 grams of heroin, police commissioner Zeljko

search of J.G's apartment. In the vicinity they found the remainder
of narcotics, totalling 8.6 kilos of marijuana and 67 grams of
heroin, several cigarette cartons, weapons, ammunition and
ensignia of the former paramilitary "Serb Krajina army".
Vajda refused to disclose the origin of the drugs, in the interest
of the investigation, but did state the apprehended person was
important in the narcotics chain, judging from the amount of found
drugs.
