ZAGREB MONEY MARKET SEES HIGH LIQUIDITY OF BANKING SYSTEM ZAGREB, Jan 8 (Hina) - The Zagreb Money Market saw high liquidity of the banking system in the first days of this year. This has been supported by great money demand and very
good money offer in overnight and daily transactions. After an increased demand rate on the last work-day of 2000, demand in overnight trade was more than modest, amounting to some 20 million kuna, whereas the offer was several times higher. The price of money was around three percent, with the average weekly interest rate amounting to 2.74 percent annually. Money offer in daily transactions was very good as well, whereas the demand was modest. Loan-seekers returned as much as 50 million kuna worth of previously taken loans.
