ZAGREB, Dec 25 (Hina) - Croatian oil company INA's leading official Tomislav Dragicevic said INA would end this year at a positive zero, which he believes is a success in relation to last year, when the oil company had a 1.6 billion
kuna loss. Dragicevic recalled the company had problems with setting the price for oil products this year. According to calculations, had the market formation of prices functioned, INA would have procured a profit of some two billion kuna this year. Dragicevic said he believed next year INA would be granted forming prices based on market principles. This would include fixed excise taxes, and the price of oil products would depend on the movement of the prices on the Mediterranean market, he explained. ZAGREB, Dec 25 (Hina) - Croatian oil company INA's leading official
Tomislav Dragicevic said INA would end this year at a positive zero,
which he believes is a success in relation to last year, when the oil
company had a 1.6 billion kuna loss.
Dragicevic recalled the company had problems with setting the price
for oil products this year. According to calculations, had the
market formation of prices functioned, INA would have procured a
profit of some two billion kuna this year.
Dragicevic said he believed next year INA would be granted forming
prices based on market principles. This would include fixed excise
taxes, and the price of oil products would depend on the movement of
the prices on the Mediterranean market, he explained.
According to the company's estimates, next year's production of oil
and gas would remain at the current level and oil refineries would
increase production.
The main task next year, however, is the beginning of privatisation
of the company. INA officials feel the company firstly needs to be
revived to reach as high a price as possible during the sale.
INA needs at least a year of working under market conditions to see
its true worth, the company's officials stressed.
