ZAGREB, Jan 4 (Hina) - INA welcomed Thursday's decision of the Croatian Government on deregulating prices on the market of oil and oil products. "We were truly glad to receive the decision of the Croatian Government, which, after our
repeated requests over several years, introduces the model of market price formation," said the head of INA's management board, Tomislav Dragicevic. The decision is a sign that the Government guarantees the market principle of the functioning of the economy as well as the transparency of prices, which are based on the real price of oil products on the Mediterranean market and the US dollar rate. ZAGREB, Jan 4 (Hina) - INA welcomed Thursday's decision of the
Croatian Government on deregulating prices on the market of oil and
oil products.
"We were truly glad to receive the decision of the Croatian
Government, which, after our repeated requests over several years,
introduces the model of market price formation," said the head of
INA's management board, Tomislav Dragicevic.
The decision is a sign that the Government guarantees the market
principle of the functioning of the economy as well as the
transparency of prices, which are based on the real price of oil
products on the Mediterranean market and the US dollar rate.
Dragicevic believes today's decision will enable the development
of INA and its numerous business partners and encourage foreign
investors. The decision, he said, will also be welcomed by
consumers.
The Croatian government decided at today's session that the consent
of the government would no longer be necessary in defining the
prices of oil products and that those prices would be formed
according to a special formula based on trends in world prices on
the Mediterranean market and the US dollar rate.
The consent of the Economy Ministry will no longer be necessary in
changing the prices of brown bread, fresh milk, fertilisers,
'National Gazette' forms and telephone subscription either.
Croatian Telekom (HT) deputy spokesman Jure Sulentic said the "HT
will continue to observe the Government's decisions, and it is now
up to HT to determine the price of telephone subscription."
The prices of natural and liquefied gas, electricity, unprocessed
wood, radio and TV subscription, inland railway and ship passenger
transport, as well as the prices of standardised envelopes and post
cards will remain under state control.
