Given that a two-thirds majority is necessary in parliament for the
bill to be passed, a meeting between the ruling five coalition
parties and the HDZ was announced.
HDZ bench president Vladimir Seks said it was agreed with Pupovac
that the new law would not reduce the rights already enjoyed by
minorities, that is that national minorities will be represented in
the Sabor as they have been until now, and that they will be elected
in special electoral units. He added this was agreed at a meeting
earlier in the day with the minority bench.
