LJUBLJANA, Nov 30 (Hina) - A total of 1.6 million eligible voters may go to the polls on Sunday to elect Slovenia's president at the second round of the voting. At the first round of the presidential election, held on 10 November, the
top two candidates Janez Drnovsek, the incumbent premier, and Barbara Brezigar, a former state prosecutor, mustered 44 percent and 31 percent of votes respectively.
LJUBLJANA, Nov 30 (Hina) - A total of 1.6 million eligible voters
may go to the polls on Sunday to elect Slovenia's president at the
second round of the voting. At the first round of the presidential
election, held on 10 November, the top two candidates Janez
Drnovsek, the incumbent premier, and Barbara Brezigar, a former
state prosecutor, mustered 44 percent and 31 percent of votes

According to results of the opinion polls, conducted last week,
Drnovsek enjoyed the support of 55 percent of respondents, while
Ms. Brezigar won the support of 45 percent of respondents.
According to Slovene media, if Drnovsek wins the presidential
election, his successor to the premier's post will be the current
finance minister Anton Rop.
