On December 8, some 6.5 million voters will elect the new Serbian
president from among three candidates, Serb Radical Party leader
Vojislav Kostunica's candidacy having been confirmed last week.
At the last, unsuccessful presidential election in September,
Kostunica won around one million votes in the first round, Seselj
won around 850,000 votes while Pelevic won around five percent of
the vote. In the second round in October, Kostunica won around two
million votes, almost a million more than his rival Miroljub Labus,
a Yugoslav federal vice-premier, who decided not to run in the
December vote.
