President Zlatko Tomcic and his Slovene counterpart Borut Pahor held an informal meeting to discuss bilateral relations after a soccer match between Slovene and Croatian parliamentarians in Piran on Saturday. The two officials said they had discussed bilateral relations and open questions and supported the temporary fishing regime in Piran Bay that was agreed on by a local border sub-commission on fishing with the support of both governments. Tomcic said that the stand of the Croatian government on the border agreement that had been initialled last year was clear and that the agreement was not acceptable for the Croatian public, while Pahor expressed regret that Croatia had backed out of the agreement.
