began a two-day conference in Pristina on Thursday focusing on the
implementation of projects within the Pact. #L#
The objective of the conference is to inform Kosovo institutions
about the Pact's functioning and working methods. Kosovo is not a
member of the Stability Pact because its political status has not
been resolved as yet.
Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova told participants of the gathering
that the Pact needed to help Kosovo obtain recognition from
countries in the region, and expressed the Yugoslav province's
readiness for good relations with all countries in the region. He
mentioned the Drac-Pristina highway project because it is
significant not only for Kosovo, but the entire region.
