The MAG met in Bezanec castle in northern Croatia.
The MAG is a supervisory and co-ordinating body for the Regional
Assistance Centre for the Verification and Implementation of Arms
Control (RACVIAC), which was founded in October 2000 by the
Croatian and German governments within the Third Table of the
Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, with the aim of improving
security and mutual trust between member countries.
Twenty countries are included in RACVIAC, after the recent
accession of Denmark as a full member, while the MAG consists of
officers from 16 countries.
From Oct. 1, RACVIAC will be run by Austrian Brigadier General
Johann Pucher, who will replace Croatian Brigadier Nikola
Nogolica.
