Tomcic said there was agreement in Croatia concerning fundamental
objectives for the country's foreign policy strategy, and one of
these was undoubtedly to include Croatia into Euro-Atlantic
integration.
During the talks he emphasised that Croatia advocated the
individual approach in the evaluation of each country for accession
to NATO.
Croatia is included in numerous mechanisms aimed at promoting
stability and security, such as the Stability Pact for South
Eastern Europe, NATO's Partnership for Peace and, as of last year,
the Membership Action Plan (MAP).
Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic on Tuesday also met with the NATO
delegation.
According to a government statement, Granic briefed his guests
about the situation in Croatia as a transition country, and pointed
out Croatia's wishes to enter NATO and the EU as soon as possible.
