MOSTAR/SARAJEVO, Sept 18 (Hina) - The Bosnian Foreign Ministry on
Wednesday confirmed that Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic had
advocated the redrawing of borders in the Balkans and brought
Bosnia's sovereignty into question at a working dinner of the
European Economic Forum in Salzburg two days ago. #L#
"Djindjic connected solving of difficulties in Bosnia with the
issue of Kosovo, and said that the current states in the Balkans
were not typical and as such, could hardly merge with European
criteria," the ministry's officials said.
Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija, supported by Croatian
President Stjepan Mesic, harshly criticised Djindjic, ministry
officials said, and added that the coordinator of the Stability
Pact was present at the working dinner.
A spokesman for the OSCE Mission in Bosnia, Philipp Henning, told
Hina that Djindjic's statement was not considered his official
stance, as was not the recent statement by Yugoslav President
Vojislav Kostunica that "Republika Srpska is temporarily separated
from Serbia".
Kostunica and Djindjic said earlier there would be no redrawing of
borders, so these statements are not considered their official
stances, Henning said.
