Police responded to fire from a gang, killing one of them, a member
of the so-called National Liberation Army (ONA), and injuring two,
ministry spokesman Voislav Zafirovski said.
All three are from Kosovo.
Zafirovski said that on election day, shots were fired on the
vehicle of the finance minister in Skoplje, and a police car was
bombed in Kumanovo.
In both cases only material damage was caused.
Generally speaking, elections passed correctly from the security
vantage point, the interior ministry said, stressing that police
had quickly and professionally reacted to all minor incidents.
