Citizens have the right to protest but there are other, democratic
ways of expressing dissatisfaction, Rexhepi said after a
government session.
The head of Germany's office in Pristina, Peter Rondorf, today
informed Rexhepi of the German Foreign Ministry's concern about a
statement the Kosovo government issued on Monday condemning the
arrests and encouraging protests.
In an interview with Kosovo Television, parliament head Daci said
that neither citizens nor institutions should allow themselves to
enter conflicts with the international community.
Daci criticised Kosovo's institutions and political leaders who by
slamming the arrests encouraged citizens to protest.
The change in the Kosovo leaders' opinions ensued following harsh
warnings by the UN Mission, the KFOR peacekeepers, and other
institutions and some countries in connection with the government
statement against the arrests of people charged with war crimes.
