Prior to the ceremony of the grape harvesting in vineyards in the
eastern town of Ilok where he was taking part, PM Racan said it was
important both for Slovenia and Croatia to avoid conflicts.
"I believe we are on that path," he said.
Racan added that it was important to do everything possible to
"create prospects of final resolution of open issues" during the
preparations for his meeting with Slovene Premier Janez Drnovsek,
set for Tuesday.
"I hope that the meeting with Mr. Drnovsek will give a good
contribution to efforts to take such directions," Racan said adding
that incidents in Piran Bay were harmful both for Croatia and
Slovenia.
Racan condemned last night's incident when an explosive device had
been thrown at the house of Vukovar Mayor, Vladimir Stengl,
describing it as a crime.
"Every attack at the democratically-elected representative of
authorities is an act which must be deplored," he said.
