LJUBLJANA, Aug 13 (Hina) - Slovenia's police confirmed on Tuesday that an incident did take place in northern Adriatic's Piran Bay earlier today, but claimed that as were the cases last week, Slovene fishermen did not cross into Croatian territorial waters. #L# Interior Ministry spokesman Miran Koren told the STA news agency that the incident did take place but that it was an "event proceeding along the same lines as last week's incidents." Official Ljubljana claims that last week's incidents in Piran Bay are an attempt by Croatia to force having international arbitrators settle the open sea border issue. According to Slovene diplomats, the two countries cannot divide control in Piran Bay along the middle of the bay, which would be in keeping with the UN convention on maritime law, due to specific circumstances and a deal initialled on the matter by the Croatian and Slovene governments.
