Interior Ministry spokesman Miran Koren told the STA news agency
that the incident did take place but that it was an "event
proceeding along the same lines as last week's incidents."
Official Ljubljana claims that last week's incidents in Piran Bay
are an attempt by Croatia to force having international arbitrators
settle the open sea border issue.
According to Slovene diplomats, the two countries cannot divide
control in Piran Bay along the middle of the bay, which would be in
keeping with the UN convention on maritime law, due to specific
circumstances and a deal initialled on the matter by the Croatian
and Slovene governments.
