ZAGREB, Sept 6 (Hina) - The president of the magistrates' court in Umag on Friday afternoon issued an order for the release of Josko Joras to prevent his medical condition from deteriorating following a 16-day hunger strike. #L# Court president Vladimir Vidovic approved a request by the head of the Prison System Management, Josip Hehet, that Joras's detention be discontinued. The Prison System Management made the request today after the first medical complications which arose due to Joras's refusal of food and medication threatened to deteriorate. Joras is a Slovene citizen contesting Croatian sovereignty in Mlini, a Croatian village where he resides. His failure to pay misdemeanour fines led to an arrest on Aug. 21 to serve a 30-day prison sentence. (hina) ha sb
