ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - The Croatian People's Party (HNS)
president, Vesna Pusic, on Wednesday said the settlement of

of Croatia's and Slovenia's bids to enter the European Union. #L#
The solution should be time-limited until both countries' entry
into the EU, as this can ease the reactions and sensitiveness of the
public in the two countries to some solutions, Pusic said at a news
conference.
She asserted that with the two countries' admission in the EU the
problems, which currently seem explosive, would cease existing and
joint regulating mechanisms would go in force.
?he HNS, which urges talks between Zagreb and Ljubljana on the issue
of Piran Bay, suggests that the two sides shift their efforts from
achieving an overall treaty to an agreement on a series of contracts
which ensue from the existing agreement on local border traffic and
cooperation.
The agreements should concretise the right to fish, that is, a model
of compensating for or dividing the catch, and they should define
patrols in the bay.
Pusic added that marginal events, such the Joras case, must be
settled as soon as possible.
