ZAGREB, Aug 28 (Hina) - The officials of the Co-ordinating Body of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) Canada issued a statement on Wednesday noting that a vast majority of party branches in Canada, except for some individuals in
Toronto, accepted the results of the HDZ's seventh general assembly, considering them legitimate. The body thus distanced itself from a recent declaration by the HDZ branch Toronto dismissing the results of internal party elections.

The HDZ Toronto states in its declaration that the election results
from the party's seventh general assembly are the consequence of
lack of respect for the party statute and considers HDZ president
Ivo Sanader, and senior party members Vladimir Seks and Branimir
Glavas responsible for that.
The statement also conveys the support of most HDZ branches in
Canada for the party presidency and its leader Sanader.
