BATINA/OSIJEK/ALJMAS, Aug 21 (Hina) - Danube's water level at Batina, and Drava's level at Osijek (eastern Croatia), on Wednesday rose by approximately 1.5 centimetres per hour, so regular measures against floods are still in
effect.

Danube's water level was 720cm at 6pm today, which is only 30cm away
from pronouncing extraordinary flood measures.
The largest surge at Batina is expected tonight and on Thursday.
Drava's water level at Osijek is 403cm. Extraordinary measures are
pronounced when the level reaches 500cm.
Osijek-Baranja County's flood crisis centre has reported that
water in Batina is no longer for drinking, so the Croatian Army has
organised the delivery of drinking water to the town.
Some buildings have already been flooded at Drava's estuary into
the Danube River.
Last night the water from Drava began flooding the west bank on
which the Copacabana swimming resort, as well as a section of the
area towards Osijek's ZOO.
The largest water surge at Osijek is expected on Friday.
