However, the river is now threatening the village of Dalj and the
situation in the Dalj and Erdut area is expected to deteriorate on
Tuesday and Wednesday, the Osijek-Baranja County flood crisis
centre reported.
The water level has risen by a dozen centimetres since last night
and is now at 640 cm.
Regular flood protection measures are in force.
Several holiday houses in Aljmas have been flooded and the crisis
centre has called on the owners of holiday houses to protect their
property in areas which are likely to be flooded.
