a guest of the American Bar Association (ABA) which will bestow its annual award on the Croatian head of state for his contribution to democratic and economic changes. The award will be given to President Mesic on Saturday's ceremony, which will be held as a part of the ABA's 125th annual assembly. The ABA executive committee's head, Homer Moyer said President Mesic's leadership was crucial for Croatia's commitment to democratic principles. The decision on the award recipient is made by about 5,000 members of the Central and Eastern European Law Initiative (CEELI), who are mainly judges or attorneys.
