Minister Mijo Anic said on Saturday individuals from the ruling
Alliance for Changes wanted to oust him and thus resume the
elimination of Croat officials from ruling structures in this
Croat-Muslim entity. #L#
Anic spoke to reporters in Capljina after the federal Finance
Police blocked the account of the federal army's Croat component.
Anic refused to say who wanted to replace him, but added he knew who
it was. He indirectly stated that by replacing him, the Muslim side
would take full control in the Federation.
Anic is the second federal government minister whom the Muslim
Party of Bosnia-Herzegovina is trying to remove.
Earlier this week Anic refused to provide the Finance Police with
financial documentation pertaining to the Croat component of the
federal army. As a result, this component's account was blocked.
Also this week, the Finance Police broke into the federal Defence
Ministry, at the request of the entity's President Safet Halilovic
and at the recommendation of Deputy Defence Minister Ferid
Buljubasic.
Halilovic explained the action with the need to establish the real
debt in the Federation's army. In a note to the chief federal
inspector, he wrote: "The basic reason, however, lies in the
alleged non-existence of financial documentation for the so-called
Croat component of the Federation's Army."
In the note Halilovic cautions about possible abuse and many
irregularities in the Croat department of the federal Defence
Ministry and the army's Croat component, including "disordered
personnel documentation."
Defence Minister Anic dismissed all these accusations, claiming
the Finance Police break-in had been motivated solely by political
reasons.
