LJUBLJANA, July 16 (Hina) - Opportunities for better business cooperation between Slovenian and Croatian companies remain unused because of politicians who would rather have their pictures taken in Brussels and Washington than open
the door to Slovenian companies on the market which could become more important to Slovene exporters than the German market. This was claimed by the president of the Slovenian-Croatian Friendship Society in Ljubljana, Bozo Dimnik.

Dimnik is one of the main lobbyists and promoters of a stronger
economy and political co-operation between the two countries over
the past ten-fifteen years.
"By making clean business contacts with Croatian businessmen we are
only using 40 per cent of the business potential - if that. This is
the fault of politicians who use friction and close business
channels," Dimnik claimed in an article for the "Gospodarski
vestnik" (Business Herald).
"There has been talk about Ljubljana bank for years now yet to this
day politicians have not realised how significant this issue is to
developing good economic relations. We let several business
opportunities pass us by because of the issue of Ljubljanska bank
and the question is, was it worth it. Politics is at fault. There are
some people in economy who too have a tutorship attitude towards the
Croatian market even though it is possible for the Croatian economy
to quickly revive and become a leading factor in the region," Dimnik
said.
