CALL FOR ABOLISHMENT OF ACI SUPERVISORY BOARD
ZAGREB, August 2 (Hina)- The Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP) on
Thursday requested of the Commercial Court in Rijeka to abolish the
Supervisory Board (NO) of ACI, the state-owned company in charge of
Croatia's marinas, the government reported on Friday. #L#
The Privatisation Fund as the owner of ACI requested the commercial
court in Rijeka to abolish the ACI Supervisory Board. Sources from
the court indicated that a decision could be made during the day
already. With that the problem of ACI could be presented to the
Government at its next session.
This would be followed by a decision to call for the ACI general
assembly so that the Government can propose a new Supervisory
Board.
The government wishes to stop the "sad circus" surrounding
ACI in the midst of the tourist season, government sources
reported.
The problems surrounding ACI culminated last week and the company
currently has two presidents of the managing board and two
presidents of the supervisory board.
Sources from the government reported that party interests were not
relevant in this case but a conflict of varying development
concepts where one supports the development of marinas while the
other considers that ACI is not necessary at all.
Government sources added that events surrounding the company are
the result of varying ambitions in ACI and the inability to run the
company to the benefit of Croatian economic interests.
