This relates especially to refraining from unrealistic promises
that could shake the stability of the economy and development of
entrepreneurship, HUP head Zeljko Ivancevic said at a press
conference on Tuesday.
This was just one of the suggestions to the government relating to
economic policies in the coming period proposed by the HUP
presidency at a meeting held on Monday.
The HUP Presidency discussed the current economic situation and in
its suggestions to the government, stressed that economic policies
should preserve the relatively healthy macro-economic framework.
It was also stressed that the fiscal deficit for the consolidated
central state should be maintained within the planned framework for
this year (3 to 4 percent) and that transparency in public financing
was urgent.
Employers believe that the new government could be advised to come
to an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (MMF) in an
effort to preserve trust in the financial market.
