ZAGREB, Aug 1 (Hina) - After a three-month revival, Croatia's commodity exports slowed down in June, the Central Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday. In the first six months of 2002, they totalled US$2.249 billion, which was only
0.6 percent more than at the same time last year.

Imports in the year's first half grew by 6.1 percent, amounting to
US$4.771 billion.
Croatia's foreign trade deficit in said period was US$2.522
billion, an increase of 11.4 percent as against the first six months
of 2001.
In this year's first six months, exports covered imports by a mere
47.1 percent.
May saw this year's highest monthly exports, US$443 million, but
June saw a slowing down, at US$351.8 million a 14 percent drop as
against June 2001.
Imports in June 2002 totalled US$890.6 million, which decreased
exports' coverage of imports to only 39.5 percent, the lowest such
figure in the last 18 months.
