ZAGREB, July 30 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament (Sabor) on Tuesday voted confidence in the new, second government of Prime Minister Ivica Racan, and to the programme the government will be working on until the end of the
mandate.

During individual voting, 84 MPs voted for the new government, 47
voted against it, and one MP abstained.
The passing of the new Racan cabinet required a minimum 76 votes in
favour of a total of 151 MPs.
The government's new members are Ante Simonic as Deputy Premier,
Zeljka Antunovic as Defence Minister, Donald Zuvanic as Transport,
Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister, Ljubo Jurcic as
Economy Minister, and Gvozden Flego as Science and Technology
Minister.
Gordana Sobol, a minister without portfolio, will be the prime
minister's chief-of-staff.
The vice-premiers and most other ministers remain the same as in the
first Racan cabinet.
Former Vice-Premier Drazen Budisa, and former defence, economy,
transport, and science ministers, Jozo Rados, Hrvoje Vojkovic,
Mario Kovac, and Hrvoje Kraljevic, have been relieved of their
duties.
The parliament also endorsed the new government's programme,
consisting of 23 items.
The new government is the eighth Croatian government since the
state achieved independence.
Premier Racan and the 23 ministers were sworn in, committing to
conscientiously performing their duties and advocating all-round
progress for Croatia.
