ZAGREB ARCHBISHOP RECEIVES HIS HOLINESS THE DALAJ LAMA

ZAGREB, July 8 (Hina) - President of the Croatian Bishops' Conference and Zagreb Archbishop, Msgr. Josip Bozanic on Monday afternoon received His Holiness the Dalai-Lama in the Archbishop's palace, the Zagreb Archbishop's public relations office reported. #L# The collocutors emphasised the significance of dialogue between religions of the world as a special challenge to all believers at the beginning of a new millennium, a press release said. Following his meeting with Archbishop Bozanic the Tibetan religious and secular leader stated that the talks were conducted in a very comfortable atmosphere and that he had told the Archbishop that whenever he met with a high Christian priest, he felt as if he were speaking to his brother. Stating that he had discussed political circumstances in Tibet with Archbishop Bozanic as well as the difficulties faced by the Tibetan people, the Dalai-Lama added that he had mentioned that people of the Muslim faith had lived in Tibet for centuries and that Islamic community was the best example of a peace-loving religious community.
