Upon his arrival at the Zagreb airport, the Dalai-Lama said the fact
that he would meet no representative of Croatia's authorities was
no problem for him.
He added that he did not want to create problems to anyone during his
journeys.
The Tibetan leader and a Nobel Peace Prize winner arrived in Croatia
on 6 July on his first unofficial visit, at the invitation of some
non-governmental organisations in the country.
His first stop was the coastal city of Split.
On Monday afternoon he will hold a lecture on the Buddhist attitide
to the inter-religious dialogue, at the Jesuit faculty of
philosophy in Zagreb.
Later he will hold a lecture on the ethics for a new millenium in the
sports hall in the Croatian capital.
The Dalai-Lama, an advocate of the peaceful resolution of problems
and of dialogue, has been living in India since 1959 when he was
forced into exile after the Chinese military occupation of Tibet.
Since 1960 he has resided in Dharamsala, aptly known as "Little
Lhasa", the seat of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile.
