LJUBLJANA, July 4 (Hina) - The Tibetan religious and spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, who on Thursday arrived in Slovenia for a three-day visit at the invitation of Ljubljana University, said he advocated Tibet's autonomy, not
independence.

Addressing reporters, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and prominent
spiritual leader of his people, the Dalai Lama said China was
undergoing a process of change which would lead to democracy and
freedom of speech.
Despite the protest of Chinese diplomats, the Dalai Lama held
informal meetings with Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek and
several other senior Slovene officials. He is also expected to meet
President Milan Kucan.
