Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, who saw the Bulgarian president
off, expressed satisfaction with the visit, saying the Croatian-
Bulgarian cooperation had a long history and was to the benefit of
both countries and the region.
Mesic told reporters that he and Prvanov had agreed on the
continuation of cooperation in the fields of education, culture,
sports, and particularly economy.
He said today's meeting with Prvanov focused on concrete forms of
economic cooperation, including the possibility for the Croatian
company "Rade Koncar" to join in the reconstruction and
modernisation of the Bulgarian railways.
Mesic proposed the establishment of a joint company for this and
similar businesses in the region and called on domestic businessmen
to start co-operating with Bulgaria.
