"The Slovenes are not satisfied, the Croats are particularly
dissatisfied, and they are now trying to have some minor issues
discussed again. The Slovenes and the Croats thought the state
property of the (former federation), military and civilian, was
worth US$100 billion, that it should have been estimated and
divided under a certain key," Dobroslav Mitrovic told the Valjevo-
based magazine "Kolubara".
He added Croatia and Slovenia knew that most of the property that
should have been divided among the successor states was located on
the territory of present-day Yugoslavia. The West supported
Yugoslavia's demand to have the property divided by the territorial
principle, he said.
If it had not been so, Yugoslavia would have had to pay US$35 billion
to the other successors, said Mitrovic.
He added the public had not been notified about the amount
Yugoslavia received so that the other successors would not use it as
a reason not to ratify the succession agreement.
