The agreements, signed by Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK)
president Nadan Vidosevic and Yugoslav Chamber of Commerce (PKJ)
president Pavle Pasajlic, define the two institutions as the
bearers of technical assistance regarding succession issues, in
line with decisions adopted by both countries.
Present at the signing of the agreement was also the head of the
Croatian Office for the Succession Project, Bozo Marendic. Asked
about the exact amount of Croatian companies' claims, Marendic said
they were much higher that those of Yugoslav companies. On the other
hand, claims by physical persons from Yugoslavia are much higher
than those of Croatian citizens, Marendic added.
The agreement on trade arbitration was signed by the president of
the Permanent HGK Court, Sinisa Triva, and the president of the PKJ
Foreign Trade Arbitration Office, Dobrosav Mitrovic.
Apart from professional cooperation, information exchange, and
technical assistance, the agreement also regulates the possibility
of a joint arbitration clause. The clause will be offered to
businessmen from the two countries wishing to cooperate and will
stipulate arbitration in disputes depending on the country where
the dispute occurred.
