ZAGREB, May 31 (Hina) - The Democratic Centre party (DC) on Friday
called on the Croatian government to publicly renounce an
initialled border agreement with Slovenia, assessing that nobody
in Croatia was accepting it. #L#
DC president Mate Granic told a news conference that nobody in
Croatia accepted the agreement, but it was being used by Slovenes to
exert pressure on Zagreb by means of the international community.
After it renounces the initialled agreement, Croatia should
establish new starting points on state borders, especially in the
Piran Bay, and this should be adopted by the parliament, Granic
said. He added that Croatia should suggest Slovenia new talks on
borders.
If Slovenes do not accept this, there is the possibility of
international arbitration, Granic said.
