Among other things, the amendments include a greater level of
liberalisation of agricultural and food-processing products, in
line with a memorandum on the liberalisation of trade, signed
within the Stability Pact in 2001.
The Croatia-Macedonia free trade agreement was signed on May 9,
1997 in Skopje and it became effective on October 30, 1997. The two
sides decided it was necessary to amend the agreement in order to
enable the liberalisation of trade.
The agreement on amendments to the free trade agreement will become
effective on July 1, 2002.
