ZAGREB, June 18 (Hina) - The Tobacco Factory Rovinj ("TDR") achieved the best business results in its history in 2001. The net profit of the TDR Group climbed by 51.4 percent to 508.06 million kuna (69.59 million euros), while the
total income rose to 2.24 billion kuna (EUR306,850 million), a 31-percent increase compared to 2000.
ZAGREB, June 18 (Hina) - The Tobacco Factory Rovinj ("TDR")
achieved the best business results in its history in 2001.
The net profit of the TDR Group climbed by 51.4 percent to 508.06
million kuna (69.59 million euros), while the total income rose to
2.24 billion kuna (EUR306,850 million), a 31-percent increase
compared to 2000. #L#
Last year's exports increased by 20.5 percent, accounting for over
55 percent of all sales.
The company's productivity improved by a high 66 percent in the past
five years.
In 2001, TDR continued with investments, and earmarked 530 million
kuna (EUR72.6 million) for this purpose. Of this sum, 450 million
kuna (EUR61.6 million) was invested in ownership stocks in the
tourist companies Jadran-Turist and Anita, and 80 million (EUR10.9
million) in the equipment.
The TDR sales increased by 6.7 percent last year. The sale of
cigarettes rose by ten percent, to 15 billion cigarettes.
The Ronhill cigarette brand made up 41 percent of the company's
sales in 2001.
The TDR Group's tourist sector realised an income of 382 million
kuna (EUR52.3 million), making up 17.1 percent of the group's
income.
TDR is planning to enter new markets and improve its technology in
the coming period.
