The government's guarantees for release pending trial were granted
to a former Yugoslav vice-premier, Nikola Sainovic, a former
Yugoslav army chief-of-staff indicted together with Slobodan
Milosevic for crimes in Kosovo, Dragoljub Ojdanic, a former
president of the "Republic of Srpska Krajina" in Croatia, Milan
Martic, indicted for shelling Zagreb, a former Yugoslav army
officer, Mile Mrksic, and Momcilo Gruban, indicted for war crimes
against Croat and Bosniak prisoners-of-war in concentration camps
in Bosnia.
Alongside the Serbian government guarantees, the five will submit
to the tribunal guarantees by the Yugoslav federal government. The
decision about their freedom before the start of the trial will be
made by the Hague tribunal.
