Slovenia's standpoint is clear and will not change. The Agreement
on the Border with Croatia has been initialled and we will remain at
that, Prah said.
On Wednesday, Budisa said in parliament that it was the
government's belief that considering the attitude of the majority
in the parliament, negotiations on the border with Slovenia would
not be able to continue on the basis they were begun.
According to Budisa, the Government did not bring a decision to
withdraw from the initialled agreement but it will respect the
majority attitude of the Sabor.
Slovene officials - President Milan Kucan, Prime Minister Janez
Drnovsek and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel have recently made
several statements in which they noted that negotiations on the
border were concluded with the initialling of the agreement and
they expected the process to continue with the agreement being
endorsed by the two countries' governments and parliaments.
