Two unions today organised a warning strike.
Linic recalled that Croatian Railways had 12 registered unions,
that the management had managed to find a joint solution about a
collective agreement with ten of them, but not with the two that are
on strike.
The reason for this, he said, was that the management had decided to
stimulate train personnel and people directly employed in the
transport of passengers and goods, which meant that employees of
the same degree of education would not have the same salaries.
This is a reason for ten unions to accept such a solution and two
not, he said.
Linic said that the government's representative for social
partnership had given his consent for the average salary in
Croatian railways be increased to reach the state average so that
the difference in the salaries could be paid.
It is evident that of the 12 unions it is difficult to satisfy them
all, most are satisfied and an agreement will be signed with them,
the others will be able to use their right to a union fight, Linic
said. He added that it was obvious this was a conflict between
unions not with the management.
