ZAGREB, May 23 (Hina) - The Union of Croatian Power Industry (HEP)
Employees and the company's management board signed a collective
agreement on Thursday. #L#
Under the new agreement, the average gross salary of HEP employees
will remain at last year's level - 4,070 kuna (around US$506), to
increase next year one percent less than the increase of the Gross
Domestic Product.
Bonuses for night, shift and overtime work and work on public
holidays will remain the same. The agreement, however, does not
include bonuses for difficult working conditions.
The HEP notes that the material rights from the agreement were
determined in keeping with the government's recommendation on
decreasing the wage budget of employees in state and public
companies by 10 percent. Therefore, some rights - such as long
service awards and solidarity aid - have been decreased to the non-
taxable amount of 1,800 kuna (around US$223).
It was also agreed that the HEP would pay for employees'
supplementary health care insurance.
The rights pertaining to the agreement will come into effect on June
1 and will remain valid until the end of 2003.
