REYKJAVIK/ZAGREB, May 15 (Hina) - NATO and European Union foreign ministers at a meeting in Reykjavik discussed issues of European security, mutual relations and cooperation in combating terrorism, as well as the situation in
Southeast Europe.

ministers at a meeting in Reykjavik discussed issues of European
security, mutual relations and cooperation in combating terrorism,
as well as the situation in Southeast Europe.#L#
The ministers expressed satisfaction with the fact that NATO and
European Union complemented each other and cooperated effectively
in Southeast Europe, read a statement issued after the meeting held
on Tuesday evening.
The statement also read that the ministers considered conclusions
of the European Council in Barcelona, under which the European
Union is capable of taking over a NATO mission in Macedonia, under
certain conditions and at the request of the government in Skopje.
Referring to Bosnia-Herzegovina, NATO hailed future deployment of
a European Union police mission and promised its full support to the
Stabilisation force (SFOR).
The ministers reiterated that cooperation between NATO and the EU
was important in combating terrorism.
The foreign minister of 19 NATO member countries confirmed their
commitment to the building of close and transparent relations with
the European Union.
